Halton Housing awards £25m refurbishment contracts

Apollo Group, Forrest and Seddon Construction have been appointed by Halton Housing Group to carry out a programme of works over the next four years.

The housing association has 6,100 homes in 14 sites around Runcorn and Widnes and has already spent £100m on its Decent Homes Investment Programme.

The new work commissioned from Apollo, Forrest and Seddon is for its follow-up Neighbourhood Investment Works Framework.

The investment in the work is put at £25.4m but Halton's in-house construction services department will undertake a proportion of the works. The programme includes new bathrooms, kitchens, heating and boilers, electrical rewiring, maintenance to the external envelope and re-roofing works.

The scoring for the procurement process was 55% price and 45% quality.

Apollo Group is based in Waltham Abbey, Essex, Forrest in Preston and Seddon Construction in Bolton.
