GVA names retail lead

GVA has appointed Dan Hyde from Knight Frank as director and head of the retail team in the Manchester office.

Hyde is a former Premiership Rugby Union player, and has more than eight years' experience in the property industry.

Duties at GVA will include asset management, acquisitions and development appraisals working with developers and retailers both in and out of town. He will act on behalf of clients including Staples and Smoke Barbeque Restaurant Group.

The GVA retail team in Manchester is made up of director Richard Padley, who is based in the Leeds office, and surveyor Chris Nutter.

At Knight Frank Hyde was an associate and led the company's retail and leisure team in Leeds. He acted for a variety of clients including WM Morrison, Sainsbury's, Terrace Hill, Network Rail and Peveril Securities.

Aside from his property industry experience, Hyde played professional rugby for premiership teams including West Hartlepool RUFC and Leeds Tykes RUFC. He is currently a player and coach at the social team Leodensian RUFC.
