GSH moves to the Northern Quarter

Building consultancy Gray Scanlan Hill has relocated to The Old Post Office in Manchester’s Newton Street.

The firm has taken 2,200 sq ft on a five-year lease from O’Connell East Architects, which acquired the building in September 2011. Since its purchase, OEA has repurposed the upper ground floor that was formerly the post office hall into two office units, one of which it occupies itself.

Gray Scanlan Hill, which is relocating from Brook House in Spring Gardens, last year celebrated its tenth year in business, and has since added director-level expertise, bringing in Darren Hughes from Lambert Smith Hampton in May.

Director Mike Scanlan said: “O’Connell East Architects has created a unique and interesting space at The Old Post Office. We envisage that our relocation to the Northern Quarter will inspire and benefit our team and ultimately enhance how we service and work with our clients.”

Built at the start of the 20th century in the baroque style, the top two floors of the Northern Quarter building are taken up by apartments.
