As part of an aggressive expansion strategy, the essential services supplier has signed for 106 workstations at Bruntwood Works’ recently completed Pioneer building on Marble Street in Manchester.
Verastar provides water, energy, telecoms, broadband, mobile, insurance and payments services to more than 160,000 small businesses in the UK, targeting businesses in the retail, hospitality and beauty sectors.
The company announced in March that it was ramping up recruitment following the Covid-19 pandemic, aiming to add an additional 150 staff this year.
As a result, the firm is expanding, taking space a four-year lease at Bloc, as well as maintaining its original base on Old Hall Road in Sale.
Verastar chief executive Lee Hull said: “As we continue to expand our workforce to support an ever-growing number of customers, providing modern and flexible workspaces for our colleagues is among our top priorities.
“Great people deserve to work in a great environment.”
Bloc is the most recent of Bruntwood Works’ Pioneer offices to complete. The Pioneer scheme is a £50m investment to modernise some of the developer’s ageing estate. Other Pioneer offices include Blackfriars House and 111 Piccadilly.
Bloc offers co-working space with meeting rooms, a cinema room, and event auditorium.
It also features an independent coffee shop by Trove, a lounge, a yoga studio by FORM, and a sleep pod, as well as living walls and an indoor garden aimed at increasing oxygen levels and boosting productivity and wellbeing.
“Our reimagined workspaces are designed to ensure the urban spaces we’re all returning to, are effectively future-proofed and fit for the modern worker,” said Jack Maher, senior commercial manager at Bruntwood Works.
Verastar’s agreement was brokered by Colliers.
