Grosvenor fund supports Liverpool base with £20k
The Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, owner of the Liverpool One retail-led scheme, has committed £20,000 of sponsorship towards the city's 'embassy' in London.
Grosvenor has agreed to support the embassy by taking an "ambassadorial plus" sponsorship package.
The three main sponsor packages includes:
- Supporter – £1,000
- Ambassador – £5,000
- Ambassador Plus – £20,000
Belfast-based property development company Benmore Group, the developer behind a leisure and entertainment development on a 50-acre brownfield site adjacent to New Mersey Retail Park in Speke, also agreed to a £20,000 sponsorship last Friday.
The Liverpool embassy was opened on 21 January and is based in the heart of London's financial district at 35 New Broad Street.
An initiative by Liverpool City Council, the opening of the embassy was coordinated by business leaders including Downtown Liverpool in Business chairman Frank McKenna and DWF partner Guy Wallis along with politicians and public sector organisations.
The aim of the embassy is to showcase what Liverpool has to offer to both the public and private sectors.
The confidence in the future success of the city was further demonstrated by the recent £385m refinancing of The Grosvenor Liverpool Fund and the injection on new equity into the fund by the existing investors.

The Grosvenor Liverpool Fund was established in 2004 and has seven investors, including Grosvenor, and is managed by Grosvenor Fund Management.
