The Home Quarter

Grosvenor confident of filling Home Quarter void

Grosvenor said it is in active discussions with prospective new tenants interested in the Home Quarter unit in Liverpool One following its sudden closure last week.

The 60,000 sq ft two-site store, which contained several furniture and art concessions and opened in late 2010, closed on Wednesday but one of the operators, Stocktons, reopened its unit on Hanover Street the following day.

Grosvenor said on Friday that the concessions in the other former Retail Living store have decided not to continue to trade. A spokesman for Liverpool One said: "Whilst Grosvenor had been investigating the practicalities of the concessions re-opening, all of the concessionaires have decided to continue trading in other locations.

"Grosvenor is already in discussions with a number of potential retailers to take the store.

"Grosvenor has arranged for each concession, and the superMODELS exhibition in the Home Quarter Gallery, to collect their stock. Customers affected by the closure of Home Quarter are advised to contact the concessions individually to arrange collection of any outstanding purchases."

The exhibits in the short-lived superMODELS show will be relocated to the RIBA North West office in the Tea Factory this week for safe keeping until exhibitors collect their models.
