A £4.4m development of five houses in Sandbach is set to start in the New Year after the project was given the go-ahead by Cheshire East’s planning committee.
The scheme, designed by Calderpeel Architects on behalf of private landowner Paul Foden, includes detached homes set in a 14,500 sq ft gated community.
It will be built off Church Lane, Sandbach, which sits opposite the St John the Evangelist Church, dating from 1861. The site is currently home to a 1960s farmhouse and outbuildings, which will be demolished to make way for the scheme.
Despite its rural location, the land is not designated as green belt, having been previously developed.
Three of the homes will have four bedrooms and will range in size from 3,000 sq ft to 2,500 sq ft. Two new-build five-bedrooms homes are also included in the development. One will have six-and-a-half acres of land and the other will have a two-acre paddock.
The proposals also create a footway along Church Lane, which will provide a link between St John’s Church and Sandbach Heath.
All the homes will be available for private sale, and work is due to start on the project in the New Year.
Alongside Calderpeel, the professional team included Russell Adams as planning consultant.
