Greater Manchester Police to relocate by end of 2008

Work has started on the 100,000 sq ft new office for Greater Manchester Police at Muse Developments and Stayley Developments' Ashton Moss in Tameside.

The new police base at the mixed-use park, close to the M60, will bring together around 600 staff from several buildings throughout the GMP area when it opens in November 2008.

Ashton Moss comprises 1.1m sq ft of predominantly industrial and distribution space, occupied by firms including Office Depot, the Car People, Norbain SD, and Selco.

There is also a 200,000 sq ft leisure park including Cine UK, Hollywood Bowl, Frankie and Benny's, KFC, Nandos as well as two Pubs and a Travelodge Hotel.

Development is underway on a new hotel for DeVere Village to include a health and fitness facility.

Proposals are now being finalised for a further phase of industrial, office and leisure space of around 500,000 sq ft.

Agents for Ashton Moss are King Sturge and Cordingleys.
