GMPTE reports delays due to fire at Piccadilly Station

Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive is advising passengers of disruptions to services due to a fire on Friday at Piccadilly Station.

Metrolink services into Piccadilly Station are currently suspended, and trams are turning at Aytoun Street.

The 219 bus service is also affected due to the closure of Fairfield Street.

GMPTE said platforms 13 and 14 at Piccadilly Station are closed, with the rest currently still open.

The fire is reportedly thought to have started in a car in railway arches near Fairfield Street.
