The developer plans to create the 625,000 sq ft scheme on a 40-acre site off Bolton Road in response to “significant regional demand” for employment space for small and medium-sized firms.
The 12-unit industrial park, to be known as Meridian 6 Wigan, would act as an extension to South Lancashire Industrial Estate in Ashton in Makerfield.
Designed by AEW Architects, the scheme would be built on land that has been designated for employment uses since 2006, and could create up to 1,500 jobs once complete, according to Glenbrook.
Dan Symonds, development manager at Glenbrook, said: “We are bringing this scheme forward at a time when the need to support business and the economy through the creation and retention of jobs in the borough is extremely pressing.
“Meridian 6 Wigan will build on the success of the established South Lancashire Industrial Estate and attract more investment and employment opportunities to the area, as well as delivering much-needed commercial space for local businesses looking to grow.”
