Genesis advances eighth Cumbrian scheme

Penrith housebuilder Genesis Homes is to start next month on 81 homes in Stainburn, close to Workington.

Farries Field will include two-, three- and four-bedroom housing, along with bungalows, on a site consented by Allerdale Council 1.5 miles from the coastal town.

The completed scheme will include 4.5 acres of open space with play areas, wildflower meadows and planting.

John Blue, land director for Genesis Homes, said: “Our developments foster a real sense of community and neighbourliness and become intergenerational spaces.

“Our design team have worked hard to ensure that Farries Field will be in keeping with the history and character of the area and we look forward to delivering another successful scheme, working in partnership with the local council and contractors”.

In a further boost for Genesis, Eden Council has now approved a 16-house scheme on land to the west of Gillian Well in Calthwaite.

Pattinson Gardens will include three-to-five bedroom houses and bungalows, including four affordable homes. Genesis expects to start on site in April, with an anticipated sales launch date in the summer.

The company last year launched its flagship 55-home scheme in Rheda Park, Frizington.
