The law firm has promoted Simon Maddox in the real estate team to senior associate, as part of a raft of 28 promotions across the country.
Maddox joined Gateley in 2010 in the takeover of the Manchester office of Halliwells. He specialises in landlord and tenant work, freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, with an emphasis on retail.
Gateley has also hired chartered engineer Michelle Whetham as a paralegal in the construction team.
Rod Waldie, head of Gateley in Manchester, said: "It's been another significant year for our team which, despite operating in a challenging and competitive market, has seen us flourish as we approach our fifth year. Our success has been spearheaded by a number of multi-disciplinary deals with clients such as Cains Brewery and Palatine.
"We continually look to attract the best candidates and will continue to invest significantly in staff development."
Gateley is based in Ship Canal House in Manchester.
