Gardner takes 25,000 sq ft at Hawarden

UK Land & Property and Pochin have attracted another aerospace firm to Hawarden Business Park near Broughton in North Wales.

Gardner Aerospace, a metallic details supplier, has taken unit 9 measuring 25,000 sq ft on a 15-year lease. Headquartered in Ilkeston, Derbyshire and with additional facilities in Basildon, Burnley, Hull, and Maesteg, as well as in Poland, Hawarden will be Gardner's sixth UK site.

Steve Wade, director at Legat Owen, joint agents for the scheme with King Sturge, commented: "We only started marketing this unit in April and the fact that Gardner Aerospace has already completed the deal reinforces the fact that Hawarden Business Park is the location for the aerospace sector."

Other recent deals at the UK Land and Pochin park include lettings to Airbus and Aerotech. Wade added: "There are now only two units remaining, measuring approx 6,000 sq ft. If occupiers require more space, these can be combined to provide 12,000 sq ft over a single unit. In addition, there will be a further 150,000 sq ft coming to the market in November."

Nick Guttridge, vice president of business development at Gardner Aerospace, added: "This new facility, which is located on the doorstep of our most important customer, will give us the opportunity to modernise the Gardner Aerospace Broughton business and allow it to concentrate on its exceptional Speed Shop operations."

The park is masterplanned to accommodate future phases and design and build from 5,000 sq ft to 250,000 sq ft.
