Gap moves into Arndale

American jeans brand Gap has taken a 10-year lease on 10,000 sq ft within the Manchester Arndale shopping centre.

The Arndale is jointly owned by M&G and Intu, advised by retained agents JLL and Metis Real Estate.

Recently the partners announced that Ralph Lauren had taken a 2,800 sq ft on New Cathedral Street, part of the Arndale estate. Scandinavian retailer Monki also recently opened its first concept store in the North of at the centre.

Kannika Mall, asset manager at M&G Real Estate, said: “We continue to position the centre as one of the main retail destinations in the region. We are regularly approached by global fashion brands that are looking for a chance to capitalise on the regional and international exposure Manchester Arndale offers. The centre has clearly become a must-trade location.”
