Galliford Try submits trio of Cheshire housing schemes

The company’s housebuilding arm has put forward three separate planning applicationS for a trio of sites, two in Ellesmere Port and another in Winsford, that will deliver a total of 189 homes across Cheshire.

The largest of the three is in Winsford at Handley Hill, where 82 homes are to be built in partnership with Cheshire West & Chester Council.

The site is the former Handley Hill Primary School, and Galliford Try is proposing a mix of six one-bedroom apartments, 28 two-bedroom homes, 34  three-bedroom properties, and 16 four-bed detached houses. Of these, 25 are designated for affordable tenures with the remainder for private sale.

Two further applications have been put forward in Ellesmere Port of 55 and 52 homes respectively.

Both of these are again being delivered in partnership with the council; the largest is at the former Acorns Primary School off Regent Street, which features 55 homes, with 16 for affordable tenures.

At the former Rivacre Business Park off Mill Lane, Galliford Try is also proposing 52 houses, and again, 16 of these are designated as affordable.

The trio of planning applications have now been submitted to Cheshire West & Chester Council, although a date to consider the schemes has not yet been set.

Euan Kellie Property Solutions advised on all three planning applications. The professional team also includes MPSL Planning & Design; Croft as transport planner; Ascerta on landscape, ecology, and arboriculture; and E3P as ground engineering consultant.
