Galliford Try appoints development director
Galliford Try Partnerships has hired Jonathan Peasant as director of development from fellow housebuilder Countryside Properties.
Peasant, who joined Galliford Try last week, will be based in the company’s Warrington office, and will oversee development projects, including mixed-tenure, affordable housing, and extra care schemes.
He will also be responsible for securing new regeneration opportunities, and will manage Galliford Try Partnerships’ team of development managers, bid co-ordinators, and design staff.
His previous role at Countryside Properties was as associate director of development.
Peasant replaces Darren Leary, who left Galliford Try in August this year.
Brendan Blythe, regional managing director at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “Jonathan brings with him a wealth of experience in housing development and placemaking, as well as the regeneration of public sector land, an area in which we continue to grow.
“We’ve established excellent partnerships with local authorities and registered providers since 2015, and Jonathan will be instrumental in maintaining those relationships and building new ones. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Last month, Galliford Try Partnerships announced the formation of a £100m joint venture with Trafford Housing Trust to deliver a housebuilding programme at a site in Partington.
The company’s chief executive Stephen Teagle told Place North West the housebuilder would be looking at more schemes with the joint venture across Trafford in the coming years.
