Galliford picked for Lancaster Uni management school

Lancaster University has selected Birchwood-based Galliford Try Construction as preferred contractor to deliver its new 40,000 sq ft, four-storey management school.

Planning permission has yet to be awarded for the school, to be called Waterside Building, but is expected in the coming weeks once highways issues have been resolved.

The university hopes to start enabling works on the £6.5m contract immediately and will carry out construction if planning is granted.

Galliford beat five other bidders to the contract. Completion is expected in late August 2010.
