Allied London has opened the doors of XYZ Works & Social, the co-working space within the eponymous building.
The ground and first floor spaces at the building were opened last week. They were designed by Allied’s design director David Drews, along with Manchester-based GA Studio. Cartwright Pickard designed the XYZ Building.
The ground level of XYZ Works & Social provides flexibility with a mix of co-workspace, private booths, meeting spaces and residents’ desks on a mezzanine level. Facilities on offer at the ground level are Benugo Coffee, UP fitness and The Refinery bar and restaurant, along with the shared cycle hub.
At Level 1, the facility has more specified, private and shared workspace, centred around “amenity and collaboration”. The private suites on Level 1 have almost completely sold out to a mix of tech, fintech, digital and media businesses. In January 2018, XYZ Works will also launch the dedicated fintech space The Vault and The Club, a dedicated suite for tech-enabled businesses.
The upper floors of the 160,000 sq ft XYZ are occupied by NCC Group, law firm Shoosmiths and media group Global. The building was sold in March 2016, months ahead of completion, to German fund Unio Investment for £85m.
