Further Kings development plots released for mixed-use

Two development opportunities alongside the new Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool at Kings Waterfront have been released to the market today.

Landowner, national regeneration agency English Partnerships, and city centre urban regeneration company Liverpool Vision, are seeking expressions of interest for the development of two adjoining plots on either side of the main entrance to Kings Waterfront.

The plot to the north, overlooking Wapping Dock, has outline planning permission for residential development up to a maximum area of 39,704 sq ft, 37 apartments with parking, and 5,487 sq ft A3 use commercial unit on the ground floor.

The larger plot, overlooking Queens Dock, has outline permission for a 105,000 sq ft commercial building, with undercroft parking and public open space. This site is expected to appeal to hotel operators as well as general developers. There are already two hotels under construction at Kings Waterfront; Jury's Inn and Staybridge Suites.

Eliot Lewis-Ward, area director, English Partnerships said: "Kings Waterfront is already evolving as a successful sustainable community.

"We are now looking for partners to bring forward a development at the gateway to Kings Waterfront. Quality and design will be a key driving force in line with the high standards already achieved elsewhere across the site. "

Jim Gill, Liverpool Vision's chief executive, said: "Kings Waterfront has a 15-year timeline, and the release of this development opportunity signals a further important step in its development.

"Progress to date has been extremely encouraging, with the arena fully operational, the convention centre close behind, two hotels opening shortly and residential developments in the pipeline."

Interested parties should contact sole disposal agent David Sayer at GVA Grimley by 11 April on 0151 255 1910.
