Furniture retailer buys Warrington site for expansion

Property company Williams Tarr has completed the sale of 3.2 acres at Gemini Business Park in Warrington to Starplan Furniture for £1.1m.

The site was sold after planning consent was gained for a warehouse facility with ancillary retail on the site.

Starplan will use the warehouse to service its existing retail unit at Middlebrook in Bolton as well as expansion throughout the North West.

The excellent location will also enable Starplan to open a showroom at the site, which will be open to the public.

Williams Tarr was represented by Savills. Stuart Murray, industrial director at Savills, said: "This sale is a superb result for Starplan and Williams Tarr who only acquired the site in December last year. With the revised planning consent in place the site holds excellent long term potential for Starplan."
