Fumo outside seating

Fumo opening set for next week

San Carlo Fumo, a restaurant, cocktail and late lounge bar, is due to open on Tuesday 25 November in One St Peter's Square in Manchester city centre.

The 5,500 sq ft venue is the fifth Manchester site for San Carlo Group, and occupies part of the ground and first floors at One St Peter's Square. With floors linked by a grand sweeping staircase, Fumo will also feature an alfresco dining terrace.

Fumo will serve small-plate Italian and Mediterranean dishes, similar to the menu provided at the Cicchetti restaurant on King Street West.

A feature bar headed up by Alessandro Distefano, son of restaurant founder Carlo Distefano and brother of managing director Marcello Distefano, will offer a range of wines, champagne, Prosecco, artisan beer and an original cocktail menu.

Fumo will be open seven days a week from breakfast through to dinner and with late opening hours on Friday and Saturday.

Marcello Distefano, managing director of San Carlo Group said: "We know people enjoy our food and style of dining, this time we are bringing our late lounge element to Manchester, opening post-midnight on Friday and Saturday nights means people can come and enjoy a very special cocktail or glass of wine at San Carlo Fumo long after eating there."

San Carlo was confirmed as the latest tenant in Argent and the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund's 270,000 sq ft One St Peter's Square in May. The restaurant agreed the space with a 20-year lease, at a price which Argent said set a new benchmark for rentals in Manchester.

I think the atmosphere is the best at San Carlo and what sets it apart! Not disrespecting the food at all – which is lovely too, but its just great place the buzz the people watching etc!
