Freeway upsizes in Runcorn

The insurance company is to move into a larger office at Abbots Park, taking an additional 3,000 sq ft. 

Freeway Insurance currently occupies the 5,000 sq ft Unit 2 at the Runcorn business park but will move into the 8,100 sq ft Unit 4 at the end of the year when its current lease expires. 

The company has signed a 10-year lease on its new office. 

Freeway was unrepresented in the deal and the building owners, a pair of private investors, were represented by BE Group. 

Simon Roddam, director at BE Group, said: “Freeway Insurance has made a progressive move that will see it bring more of their staff together in a contemporary working environment.  

“We are definitely seeing a flight to quality now as businesses form new strategies coming out of what has been a turbulent period for office workers”. 

Paul Cunniff, CFO at Freeway Insurance added “We are excited to continue our occupancy in Preston Brook, having been on the same site since 2011.  

“We have an exciting business plan to achieve, with one of our key milestones being to secure a new office environment, supporting the aspirations of the business, development of our team and our customer / people first vision. Our new workplace strategy will be another key differentiator, supporting the next phase of evolution for Freeway and the team”. 

Abbots Park is a purpose-built office park on a six-acre site close to the A56 Chester Road in Preston Brook, Runcorn.  

Other occupiers at the complex include Teva Pharmaceuticals and Phoenix Medical.
