Fortis hires from Braemar

Neil Roberts, the former managing director of Braemar Estates, has joined Altrincham-based Fortis Developments to head up its new division, Fortis Estate Management.

Fortis builds and operates student accommodation in key university cities under the Fortis Student Living brand, and has several large-scale residential blocks under construction in Greater Manchester including the ÂŁ75m Adelphi Wharf in Salford in partnership with Knight Knox International.

Projects are delivered through construction arm Beaumont Morgan Developments.

Alongside sister company Fortis Lettings & Management, the new division will provide a complete private rented sector asset management package for the student and residential blocks, from estate and facilities management to individual tenancy management.

Roberts was managing director of Braemar Estates, a subsidiary of fund manager Brooks Macdonald Group, from 2009 until May 2015.

He said: “I am very pleased to join such a dynamic and forward-thinking group to develop the long-term customer service function for their student accommodation investors and the buy-to-let investors of their residential projects.”
