Forrest hires from Carillion

The Bolton-based social housing contractor has appointed Ian McGillivary to its board as commercial director after 15 years with Carillion.

McGillivary has more than 20 years of experience in the construction sector and was responsible for the commercial performance of Carillion's facilities management business.

Forrest said the appointment would help to further its ambitions to roll out its services nationwide, with a focus on growth across its refurbishment, new-build, responsive and energy services activity in the social housing, residential and commercial sectors.

McGillivary is replacing Mark Cutler, who left Forrest to join Ring Stones as managing director in September 2014.

Lee McCarren, chief executive, said: "Ian's appointment comes at a time when we're accelerating our geographic expansion, with our imminent launch of our first office in the North East due to give us total coverage across the North of England.

"His experience at one of the UK's largest construction companies, coupled with his expertise in developing teams and driving growth will be an invaluable asset as we continue to target expansion across our key markets nationally."
