Formroom hires three

Manchester-based Formroom Architects has made three appointments to its team with architect Matthew O'Brien, architectural assistant Tom Welz and studio administrator Charlotte Jepson joining the Knott Mill office.

O'Brien qualified as an architect in October 2014 and joined Formroom from Cassidy + Ashton in Preston. He will work on several projects for Formroom including a hotel for an international brand and the conversion of the grade two-listed Prescot Watch Factory.

Welz is a Part II architectural assistant and recently graduated from the University of Cape Town. He was formerly senior architectural technologist at Bell Architects in Cape Town and recently relocated to the North West. He is working on projects including a range of student accommodation schemes and the refurbishment of the Formroom offices in central Manchester.

As studio administrator Jepson will help with general support and administration tasks within the office and also assist with managing the firm's social media presence and help with the production of marketing and planning submission documents.

Recent schemes designed by Formroom Architects include a 331 bedroom high-end student residential scheme which forms the last part of the Liverpool ONE masterplan, and the renovation of a grade two-listed former watch making factory into extra care accommodation in Prescot, Merseyside.
