Former PwC office becomes SACO aparthotel

A former Manchester office block previously occupied by business services firm PwC has now been transformed into the SACO Manchester Piccadilly aparthotel.

Barnfield Construction carried out the £3.5 transformation of the 41,500 sq ft Abacus Building in Minshull Street on behalf of Macclesfield-based landlord, Magnus.

The aparthotel will be operated by SACO The Serviced Apartment Company, providing 63 serviced apartments for long and short stay leisure and business travellers.

The redevelopment was led by Ed Lockyer, estates director at Magnus. It required a change of use from B1 offices to an aparthotel.

Savills negotiated the lease to SACO on behalf of Magnus.

Joint agents Savills and Canning O'Neill are now seeking an occupier for the remaining 1,641 sq ft ground floor suite, which comprises office and retail space.
