Former Central Working manager joins XYZ team

Allied London has hired Steven Bailey, former manager of Central Working on Deansgate, as community manager to co-ordinate XYZ Works, the 20,000 sq ft co-working space set to open in Manchester.

Bailey will oversee the day-to-day running of XYZ Works, within the recently completed XYZ building in Spinningfields.

XYZ Works offers a hybrid of workspace options, from co-working desks to office suites, permanent desks or private studios, with inclusive access to meeting rooms, lounge areas, events space, break out areas and coffee bars.

The workspaces at XYZ Works will be based on the ground and first floor of XYZ, and is the first of a series of co-working clubs to be launched this year across the North West and London under Allied London’s All Work brand.

Bailey has previously worked extensively in the hospitality industry, having owned three restaurants, overseen the opening of Planet Hollywood’s Dubai branch and managed a Beatles themed hotel in Liverpool.

Piers Read, who is heading up XYZ Works, said: “Steven is the ideal addition to our team. His experience and enthusiasm for our vision for XYZ Works made him the stand out candidate for the role. He already has a strong network of contacts in Manchester’s tech and business scenes and has joined us armed with great ideas to ensure we provide the best experience possible for our tenants.

“We are now gearing up for our official opening event which will feature an evening packed full of entertainment, presentations, roundtable discussions and cutting-edge technology utilising all of the fantastic flexible spaces within XYZ Works.”
