Food Cheshire conference in March

Businesses involved in food manufacturing and retail are invited to a trade conference being organised by Food Cheshire at Reaseheath College next month.

The food industry in Cheshire and Warrington alone is worth an estimated £1bn a year and employs more than 5,000 people.

The event will explore different aspects of the industry from the future for small producers and how they can look to grow their business, to the outlook for major food producers and their responsibilities to health, food security and sustainability.

Confirmed speakers include Corinna Hawkes, an expert in food policy at City University London and Prof Paul Ross, head of biotechnology at the Teagasc, Moorepark Food Research Centre; Chris Dee, chief operating officer for supermarket group Booths; and Justine Fosh, director of skills solutions for Improve and the National Skills Academy for Food & Drink Manufacturing.

The event is due to take place on Thursday 14 March 2013 at Reaseheath College, Nantwich, Cheshire.
