Fleetwood Town FC plans new training ground

HOW Planning is working with Fleetwood Town FC to prepare plans for a new community sports complex in Thornton, Cleveleys.

The Lancashire football club is hoping to deliver a new community facility which will include a number of new football pitches as well as a full-size synthetic pitch with changing rooms, classrooms and other facilities. It will also become the club's new training base for its various teams.

Richard Woodford, partner at HOW Planning, said: "It is hoped that the plans will enable Fleetwood Town Community Trust, the club's charitable trust, to move their operations to the new complex where they will be able to build on the diverse work they already do within the area."

The Fleetwood Town Community Trust provides a wide array of socially inclusive community, health, education and sport programmes which span all age groups and will be boosted by the development of a new community sports complex.

The scheme will be financed by a combination of private investment and grant funding and plans will be unveiled for consultation in the coming weeks.
