FK Group acquires Lawson House

Specialist building contractor FK Group has acquired Altrincham's 11,000 sq ft Lawson House from Standard Life Investments for £1.1m.

FK Group has instructed AEW Architects to design a comprehensive refurbishment of the building, creating "an inspiring working environment complete with a new canteen and on-site gym".

CBRE acted on behalf of FK Group, which produces building envelopes or exteriors.

CBRE's Alex Russell said: "We were instructed by FK Group to find new premises as part of the firm's expansion strategy.

"Our in depth knowledge of the South Manchester market meant that we were able to quickly compile a shortlist of suitable options and complete the deal on behalf of our ambitious client quickly."

Francis Keenan, managing director of FK Group, said: "After more than 30 years of successful trading, we had outgrown our previous building in Levenshulme and needed a more efficient building with better amenities for our staff.

"CBRE worked closely with us to ensure that all of our requirements were met and we are very excited about this new move, which represents an important milestone in the company's history."

FK's staff of over 40 people are expected to relocate to the new premises in December 2013.

Canning O'Neill represented Standard Life Investments. Kuits Solicitors advised the FK Group.
