Five more brands head for The Rock
The Rock in Bury said it has reached the one million-visitor mark since opening on 16 July and passed 85% let by floorspace.
Menswear fashion retailer, Duffer is taking 3,452 sq ft and opened on Thursday. Superdrug opened last weekend in a 5,400 sq ft unit, relocating from Mill Gate. Local jeweller, B Jewels opened a 1,083 sq ft on the corner of Central Street and St John's Square today. Millie's Cookies will start trading from a 494 sq ft unit on 1 September and Yo Shake!, a milkshake and smoothie bar in 838 sq ft of space on 10 September.
David Laycock, centre director for The Rock, commented: "We have been absolutely bowled-over by the response we have had to The Rock in its first month. The trading results have been fantastic with retailers reporting to have smashed targets in the first month and in some cases already exceeding next month's targets.
"To reach the one million visitor mark is a great way to top off what has been an amazing first month and we hope that the new tenants joining the scheme will continue to entice people back to The Rock in the weeks and years to come."
The Rock is owned by HBOS and managed by Hammerson and contains more than 600,000 sq ft of retail. The scheme was designed by BDP and built by Laing O'Rourke.
