Five contractors on Blackpool panel

Blackpool Council has appointed contractors to a four-year framework to deliver capital works and major public realm schemes.

The framework is split into two bands, one for projects costing between £100,000 and £550,000 and another for schemes between £550,000 and £4m.

On the minor works band, RP Tyson Construction of Blackpool and HT Forrest of Ribbleton, Preston were selected from 18 contenders.

Major works, under the second band, will be delivered by F Parkinsons of Blackpool, Conlon Construction and Carefoot, both from Preston. There were nine firms in the running for this larger band.

The council put the overall value of the framework at anywhere between £24m and £50m.
