Firth takes architecture to street level

Firth Associates hopes to make architecture more accessible to local people by opening an 'architect shop' in Fishergate in Preston city centre.

Joel Firth, director, said: "The architect shop in Preston – located in a client's development project – is within easy reach of Winckley Square and close to all other town centre amenities.

"We are aiming to demystify the role of an architect and show how easy it can be to get professional advice on any type of development project at any stage. We particularly enjoy working with clients on their ideas for their homes and business."

The office will also sell interior products, as well as offering advice on houses and commercial property coming to the market.

The shop opening follows Firth Associates' relocation to a new head office in Melton Grove, a former Edwardian sawmill, half a mile from Lytham centre, in February.

Recent commissions include a new flagship retail store in Dubai and a new hotel and retail tower in Blackpool.

Firth continued: "We are looking for owners of buildings that need ideas and planning permission for conversion or planning and re-valuation, in and around Preston.

"With a wealth of experience in imaginative residential and commercial projects across the region, our flexible approach enables us to deliver original solutions to every client."
