First Street contractors host meet-the-buyer event

Sub-contractors and suppliers from across Greater Manchester can register their interest in working at First Street, the joint venture between Ask Property Developments and Manchester City Council.

Main contractors for the works, Wates Construction and Carillion Construction Services, are hosting a meet the buyer event giving local suppliers and sub-contractors the chance to tender for work packages.

The event will take place at Number One First Street on Tuesday 10 September from 8am until 12pm.

Interested parties are asked to register to attend by contacting firststreet@wates.co.uk.

Wates Construction has commenced work on the £25m delivery of HOME at First Street, the new venue for the merged Manchester arts organisations, Cornerhouse and the Library Theatre Company.

Carillion Construction Services has started the £32m North Phase of the First Street Development plan. The project will see construction of a 208 bedroom, hotel, 700 space multi-storey car park, eight to ten food and beverage units and extensive public realm works.
