First phase opens at Mere Grange

Langtree has completed the £12m first phase of its new business park in St Helens.

Mere Grange is a joint venture between the property developers and English Partnerships, consisting of 54,000 sq ft space in the first phase, offering units ranging from 3,400 to 10,100 sq ft in size.

An investment of £7.4m came from English Partnerships' National Coalfields Programme as well as the EU through the Merseyside Objective One programme, to help with funding on the scheme.

Stephen Barnes, group development director at Langtree, said: "Future development totalling 300,000 sq ft will be brought forward in phases on either a speculative or bespoke basis to further satisfy those needs, ensuring that Mere Grange is set to become St Helens and one of the North West's premier business parks."

Seven Architecture were chosen architects for Mere Grange, with Morgan Ashurst the main contractor on site.

Joint agents are King Sturge and Keppie Massie.
