The Aaben Leaf Street Hulme

First phase of Hulme housing due for September completion

The first apartments in One Manchester’s development at Leaf Street in Hulme are on track to be available to renters from next month, while the first show home has opened this week.

One Manchester’s The Aaben scheme, designed by Mecanoo, is one of two projects that the housing provider is on site with in Hulme. Keepmoat is the contractor.

The Aaben totals 105 homes, made up of 85 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and 20 three-bedroom townhouses with roof terraces.

Rent from The Aaben is set to be reinvested into other One Manchester projects.

Dave Power, group chief executive at One Manchester, said: “We are extremely proud of this development and it’s great to be so close to completion. We’ve had a lot of interest in these homes, so we are delighted to be able to welcome property hunters to view the show apartment from Thursday onwards. We’re confident people will be impressed with the apartment design and the development itself.

“There is a huge demand for quality homes in Manchester, particularly near the city centre, and we look forward to seeing people move into The Aaben from September onwards. This fantastic development is part of our commitment to build 1,000 new homes by 2021.”

Townhouse Lettings is the appointed agent for The Aaben.

“Apartments”! The illustrated room looks like a rabbit hutch.

Just wondering why the finish on the exterior is a completely different colour to the artists visuals? Odd

The rooms look tiny! If One Manchester are pushing this its pretty worrying – you expect it from the investment market but I thought Manchester One was backed with some public investment?

I would also like to know why the brick on the constructed buildings are nothing like the colour that was approved as part of the planning application. The one they’ve gone with looks really bad.
