A planning application for 237 apartments has been submitted as part of the regeneration of Central Docks, within Peel’s Liverpool Waters.
Peel Land & Property is the landowner for the infilled dockland plot to the west of Waterloo Road, while the developer of the properties would be Romal Capital.
Romal is led by Greg Malouf, an Australia-based developer and investor, also behind a 300-flat student accommodation project in Bevington Bush.
Designed by Blok Architecture, the scheme is made up of two blocks, at eight and 14 storeys, and will include a mix of one- and two-bedroom flats for market sale. There is also commercial space included in the project, such as offices, restaurant and café, and gym.
Peel announced at MIPIM in March that it was marketing eight plots within Central Docks.
Central Docks aims to feature more than 2m sq ft of mixed use floorspace including 750,000 sq ft of offices, more than 1,000 waterfront apartments in buildings of up to 44 storeys, and a 17-acre public park.
Although the masterplan for Liverpool Waters was announced 10 years ago, progress has so far concentrated on the Princes Dock area, with a series of schemes currently making their way forward. By the end of 2017, the team at Liverpool Waters are expecting to see over £300m of construction work on site.
