Firms team up for Cadishead affordable homes

Warrington-based Lane End Construction and developer NC Developments have partnered to build 59 affordable homes on a vacant two-acre plot off Liverpool Road and Green Lane in Salford.

The proposed scheme in Cadishead is made up of 17 homes and 42 apartments in an L-shaped block with 4,400 sq ft of commercial space on the ground floor, split across four retail units.

All of the residential units would be offered on an affordable basis.

Vacant since 2016, the site was previously occupied by a pub called The Lion, which has now been demolished.

Paddock Johnson Partnership is the architect for the project.

Lane End specialises in the development of residential schemes for housing associations and is on site with several projects across the North West, including 165 units for Clarion Housing in Sandbach and 144 units for Torus in Warrington.
