Fire station tenders out for Bury and Rochdale

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Authority is close to finalising land deals to clear the way for two new stations in the north of its patch.

The new borough command and community fire stations will be around 10,000 sq ft and cost around £2.5m each to build.

A tender brief has been published to appoint a contractor to the 12-month build, which is due on site next spring.

The authority's estates department declined to say where the stations would be built until negotiations over the land acquisitions had been concluded.
