Fire station plans submitted

Barton Willmore has submitted a planning application to Warrington Council on behalf of Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service for a new fire station at Cliff Lane in Lymm.

Cheshire Fire and RescueThe proposed site, formerly a truck stop, is located near the M56/M6 interchange. The building is designed to improve the service's response to emergencies as well as providing education, prevention and training programmes to the public and operational personnel.

Dan Mitchell, Partner in Barton Willmore's Manchester office, said: "This is an exciting and important new proposal for the Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service. Not only will the fire station improve response times to emergencies, it will allow greater connection between fire fighters and the public, and provide an interesting and interactive learning environment.

"The high quality design will no doubt serve as a benchmark for similar projects and the use of sustainable materials and timber will be sympathetic and consistent with its surroundings."
