Finos to open in Southport

Neptune Developments has confirmed a tapas, bar and grill restaurant has signed to its £30m mixed-use development The Waterfront in Southport, Merseyside.

Finos At The Waterfront has agreed on a 15 year lease with Neptune for 3,385 sq ft. Quoting rents on the scheme are £20/sq ft.

Bob Warrior, director of Finos At The Waterfront, said: "The scheme allows us to create an ambience and location that matches the strength of our food and drink offer. We're now looking forward to completing the project and an exciting launch this coming autumn."

Neptune completed the redevelopment of Southport floral hall gardens and pavilion in October 2008.

Sefton Council selected the developer to deliver 53,684 sq ft of mixed use leisure space, a 14,854 sq ft Stanley casino, a 133-bedroom Ramada Plaza hotel and a 10,000 sq ft conference centre, overlooking the resort's coastline and marine lake.

Neptune added it is in talks with other unnamed leisure brands about occupying space at the scheme, known as The Waterfront.

Graham Bowling, from Fitton Estates, joint agent on The Waterfront, said: "We've had a steady flow of enquiries from operators looking at both 'less saturated' locations in the North of England and those with unique selling points. Southport is regarded as prime by a significant number of these parties contacting us, impressed by for example, the record number of bed nights enjoyed by the adjacent four star Ramada Plaza Hotel, the eleven million annual shoppers to the area and the level of annual day visitor spend equating to in excess of £150m according to the most recent figures."

Mowbray Gill is joint agent on the scheme.
