Film company moves to Media City

Commercial and corporate production company Equinox has relocated its Northern office to Blue Tower in Peel Media's development.

Equinox took 1,000 sq ft on a three-year lease and will house a team of six in the new office on the 18th floor.

The company moved to the office tower, located on the south elevation of The Studios, from The Crescent in Salford, which it owns. Equinox plans to let its old offices to new occupiers.

Gary Cowan, manager of Equinox, said: "We have built the business on delivering value for money productions to our clients and we have seen a rise in productions moving north as budgets are squeezed even further.

"Our move to Media City UK allows us to offer our clients a 360-degree media experience without the need to go to London.

"With social media marketing trends and the prolific growth in web video production, we hope to lead the field in this developing media.

"Since our move, Equinox has been working closely with the University of Salford, helping to develop up and coming talent and offering them invaluable industry experience."

Cowan added Equinox has a hot desk for students to join during their studies.

Stephen Wild, managing director of Media City UK, said: "It is gratifying to be able to announce that another great business has made its home here at MediaCityUK.

"Gary and the team behind Equinox have carved a great name in the media world and work with some exciting brands. We hope that they take advantage of the opportunities available here."
