This marks the second project with Far East Consortium for the China-owned company, which built the Gate and the Stile towers at FEC’s Meadowside development.
CR Construction (UK) will build the three waterfront residential towers planned for the Manchester neighbourhood, including the 37-storey Crown View. The other towers are the 26-storey Park View and 18-storey City View.
The apartments in the towers will overlook a new 113-acre park, plans for which are currently open to public consultation.
“We are delighted to have been appointed as the preferred contractor to deliver FEC’s Victoria Riverside development, as we look to further grow our portfolio in Manchester,” said CRUK managing director Mark Peatfield.
FEC commercial director Anthony Payne said the developer was “hugely excited” to begin work on Victoria North.
“CR Construction’s experience and 50-strong local team will no doubt stand us in good stead for the delivery of this complex project at the heart of a fast-emerging neighbourhood,” Payne said.
CRUK is a wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned corporation China Zhejiang Construction Group (H.K).
