Executive rejoins Arcadis in Manchester

A founding partner of EC Harris in Manchester has returned as city executive at the firm, to lead on raising the profile of the design consultancy in the North West following the rebrand to Arcadis last year.

Jonathan Moore established the Manchester branch in 2000. He relocated to London in 2005, and from 2008 worked out of EC Harris’ European and Asian offices until 2015.

Rejoining the company to work alongside Moore is executive assistant Jo Ormerod, who worked at EC Harris until 2005. She was most recently employed by architect SimpsonHaugh & Partners.

According to Moore, the objective of the city executive role is to boost Arcadis’ reputation as “a recognized, trusted advisor and thought leader in urban sustainability, driving a competitive advantage for cities across the world”.

The Manchester office will focus on issues of mobility, connecting people through better transport; resiliency, supporting sustainable environments and enhancing business infrastructure; and regeneration, reusing depleted assets and looking at initiatives for improved housing, health, public services, education and skills.

EC Harris became a subsidiary of Arcadis in 2011, and in 2015 the EC Harris brand was phased out. There are 28,000 people working globally for Arcadis, and the company also has an architectural arm, CallisonRTKL.
