Ex-Colliers agent joins Sixteen

The Manchester-based property consultancy has hired Scott Shufflebottom as an associate director in the office agency team.

As from this week, Shufflebottom will work alongside Sixteen Real Estate’s founding partner Nick Nelson and Amelia Barratt, associate in the office consultancy team, which advises clients on all aspects of the office property sector.

Shufflebottom was previously associate director at agency Colliers International, where he worked for six years. Prior to that, he was a graduate surveyor at Lambert Smith Hampton.

With more than a decade’s industry experience, Shufflebottom has worked with institutional funds, private equity clients and several North West-based property companies, and he also specialises in advising occupiers.

His appointment follows two other recent hires by Sixteen, including that of directors John Scully and Graham Aitkenhead in January, as it seeks to expand its operations.

The company’s client base includes Aviva Investors, CBRE GI, Mayfair Capital and Threadneedle Investments, among others. It recently secured the off-market purchase of 42-44 Fountain Street in Manchester on behalf of Adapt Real Estate, and the purchase and subsequent asset management role of 37 King Street on behalf of Investream.

Sixteen employs 10 staff at present.

Founding partner Nelson said: “Having previously worked with Scott for three years and seen first-hand the qualities he brings to the table, this was an opportunity we couldn’t turn down.

“We have full confidence in the robust fundamentals of the Manchester market and that we will see a return to normal levels of activity in the second half of the year.”

Shufflebottom added: “Joining Sixteen was an easy decision for me, having watched the business go from strength to strength over the last five years. Working with Nick and Amelia and the closeknit team will ensure I can focus on adding value for my clients, offering an all-encompassing office advisory role and enhancing asset value at every opportunity.’’
