Queensberry Real Estate has announced Everyman as the operator of a four-screen cinema within its redevelopment of the Metquarter Shopping Centre in Liverpool, the first new signing since its acquisition of the building in January 2016.
Queensberry is asset manager and developer, on behalf of joint venture partner Bywater Properties.
The multi-million pound refurbishment of Metquarter aims to bring a cluster of “high-quality” leisure and restaurant brands to the Victoria Street end of the centre.
Metquarter is made up of 130,000 sq ft retail and restaurant space across 44 units over ground and first floors. Everyman will occupy 18,000 sq ft.
K2 Architects is advising on the redevelopment.
Everyman is scheduled to open in autumn 2018. The cinema operator aims for a more boutique, high-end feel than other multiplexes, so features sofa seating, a food and drink service, and private screening lounge. Screenings vary from independent films, to larger Hollywood blockbusters, and live performances.

We also have ongoing negotiations with other exciting retail and restaurant brands which we hope to announce over the next few months.”
Retail brands already located in the chopping centre include Mac, Hugo Boss, Illamasqua, Jo Malone, Kurt Geiger, LK Bennett, Carluccio’s, and Jack Wills.
