Wirral NHS Foundation Trust has selected the contractor to build a 24,000 sq ft clinic in West Kirby, comprising 20 doctors’ consulting rooms and other facilities.
Marine Lake Medical Practice, which currently operates from premises on Grange Road in West Kirby, will occupy the facility once Eric Wright Construction completes the build.
The Orrysdale Road facility has had planning consent from Wirral Council since 2013, and would be known as Marine Lake Health and Wellbeing Centre.
The three-storey new-build health centre would also offer treatment rooms for minor procedures, health education and community health facilities, podiatry treatment rooms and support accommodation including offices and meeting rooms for the local NHS trust.
There would also be provision for a commercial space on the ground floor.
Eric Wright Construction was one of four firms to bid for the project.
The NHS trust, in partnership with NHS England, has already secured funding for the project, which is anticipated to take around 13 months to complete.
