Enviros to advise Morris & Spottiswood on ‘green’ strategy

Warrington-based fit out, housing and maintenance company Morris & Spottiswood has appointed environmental consultancy Enviros to help reduce its carbon footprint.

The firm has commissioned Enviros to devise a sustainability strategy ready for implementation later this year.

Enviros will look at issues such as resource use and management, business travel and supply chain management.

Tony Hampson, Morris & Spottiswood's managing director of fit out, said: "Our carbon footprint is made up by emissions from the energy we use and our business travel as well as emissions from waste and the use of resources and materials. We don't want to react to climate change but would rather be proactive in our approach and ensure as an organisation we are reducing the impact both we and our clients have on the environment.

"Our people are already getting involved in 'green thinking' to generate ideas on how we can reduce our carbon footprint. For example car sharing, free bus and subway tickets and at-desk paper recycling for starters. We are even communicating with our 600 plus workforce in a green way by carbon neutral text messaging."
