Engineering firm buys Rochdale warehouse

Agent BC Real Estate has completed a trio of disposals at Rochdale Central Industrial Estate totalling 36,600 sq ft, on behalf of landlord Prime Properties.

Mayo Civil Engineering will relocate from its previous premises in Middleton, having acquired a 24,000 sq ft warehouse for £1.65m. Centre Stage Engineering has taken a 8,000 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease with an option to buy, while Multiwal UK has agreed a five-year lease at £5/sq ft for a 4,600 sq ft unit.

Rochdale Central is situated off Manchester Road, close to junction 20 of the M62 and comprises four modern detached warehouses.

John Barton, partner at BC Real Estate, said: “Following our client’s acquisition of this scheme last year, they immediately undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the units.  We received a significant amount of interest from local occupiers and were able to successfully negotiate favourable terms that suited each party.

“Whilst one unit of 6,500 sq ft still remains available, we already have a number of potential occupiers interested and anticipate securing the final deal in the coming weeks.”

Sanderson Weatherall is instructed as joint agent.
