Engine of the North releases Nantwich site

The former Redsands Children's Centre in Nantwich, Cheshire, is being offered for redevelopment by Cheshire East Council's development company Engine of the North.

The 1.13-acre site on Crewe Road includes 19,378 sq ft of one- and two-storey buildings formerly occupied by the children's centre which closed in 2009.

As the site forms part of a wider area of land and buildings declared surplus to requirements by Cheshire East Council, a further 3.15 acres of open land is potentially available for open space amenity use.

Darran Lawless, managing director of Engine of the North, said: "As part of our ongoing asset rationalisation strategy on behalf of the Council, we anticipate receipt of significant offers for this surplus site."

Colliers International in Manchester has been appointed to market the site to potential buyers.

This is the second development opportunity marketed by Colliers on behalf of East Cheshire Engine of the North. Housing provider PegasusLife was recently selected as preferred bidder for a site at Remenham Chapel Lane in Wilmslow, the location of the former Cheshire East Council offices.
